OUR COMPANY HISTORY

In the summer of 1993, Arpin Van Lines, one of the nation's largest movers, established Arpin of Richmond. This corporate owned agency was set up to service its Corporate Accounts and also to service the van line's military business at Fort Lee.

By 1995 Arpin of Richmond's revenues were growing steadily. Paul Arpin brought in Wes Stewart as Arpin of Richmond's new general manager to achieve increased business and to better establish the agency locally as a leader in quality moving services.

Under Mr. Stewart's management and through the hard work and dedication of the employees, Arpin of Richmond began to excel. Mr. Stewart grew the agency to 60 employees with a fleet of 30 moving trucks that today represents the third largest hauling agency in the Arpin van lines. Mr. Stewart successfully runs the Richmond operation boastng one of the lowest driver turnovers in the company, with many awards for his efforts.

Overwhelmingly positive feedback from Arpin of Richmond customers began to reach the attention of the Van Line. The Van Line responded by assigning more of its Corporate Account moves to the Richmond based agency. The agency also experienced a substantial increase in military move bookings and received a certificate of appreciation from Fort Lee in recognition for Superior Service to the members of the armed services at Fort Lee.

In a two part transition in recognition of Mr. Stewart's hard work and dedication Arpin Van Lines established Stewart Moving and Storage in 1999 as a second local company to service military moves.Then in 2000 Mr. Stewart converted his role in the agency from corporate employee to private owner and operator.

In January 2001 Stewart Moving and Storage acquired key personnel and launched its Commercial Division. Stewart's Commercial Division has experienced early success with the successful completion of Richmond area commercial move projects for companies such as Culligan, Ethyl Corporation, UPS, Royal & Company and VMS.

Today, Stewart Moving and Storage offers a full spectrum of moving and storage services with facilities in both Ashland, Virginia and Jacksonville, Florida. While we have enjoyed growth in the markets we serve, we remain focused on our commitment to our customers. The awards and recognition we have received since we opened our doors in 1993 illustrate our brand of business:
