  1. Communicate with your mover

Don’t hesitate to ask questions! If you have any concerns at all just reach out to your customer service agent because they are here for you. Details matter; if you live on the third story, or don’t have a proper drive way, or just anything unusual you think of.  Please let your mover know so they can make a note as well. If you feel like you are giving way to much information to your preferred mover then congrats, you’re doing it right.

  1. Be prepared

Moving isn’t easy, it is a long process. You want to make sure that you give yourself enough time to complete your goals. Take the day off; don’t schedule anything that day because things can happen. Get a good night sleep and eat a good breakfast you will need to be fresh and alert. Make sure you wear comfortable clothes that you can move easily in. As soon as you have a moving date set; you need to start making plans so you are fully prepared when the movers get there.

  1. Stay Positive/ Worry Less

If you suspect something will go wrong you’re just setting the wrong mood for the day. Try to focus more on your fresh start rather than the stress of moving. If there are small valuables you are worried about just carry them with you. Pack an overnight bag with all the essentials because, chances are, you’ll be too tired to unpack.  Remember, you hired movers so that they can help your moving day go as smoothly as possible.
