Good Morning Stewart Family,

Today is the second day of the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia, PA. Exactly one week after the Republican convention, where Donald Trump had secured his candidacy, the Democratic Party is afforded the opportunity to choose their nominees for President of the United States and Vice President of the United States in the 2016 national election. So as you watch this high-dollar charade on television, think about the high-dollar items that you may encounter during a move.

This week I would like to talk about risks and expenses of moving Tempur-Pedic mattresses. I am quite sure that by now most of you have encountered one of these mattresses on a move. You may have even been told that it needs to be moved flat, but do you know why? Well the majority of these mattresses consist of three layers of foam, with the center layer being sealed inside of the mattress. If the mattresses are transported on their side then this center layer will slump towards the bottom and cause the mattress to develop lumps in the center.

These lumps are not repairable and will cause us to have to replace the mattress, and the cost of a new Tempur-Pedic mattress can exceed $5,000 each!!!

So pay attention to the type of mattress your moving and keep those Tempur-Pedic’s flat!.

Cheers,

Robert Wright – Claims Manager
