It’s the most wonderful time of the year. People are decorating, giving, spending time with family, having festive parties and attending many events. It’s a time the world becomes more cheerful and merry. With that also comes- colds, germs, stress and a lot of fatty foods. It is important that you stay well and healthy through the holidays this year.

Keep hydrated- Drinking water seems to be less of a priority during the holiday season. It’s often substituted with hot drinks or eggnog. Take a festive cup with you to work and continue to fill it with water through out the day!

Workout- Just schedule holiday parties or activities around your gym time. Just because your calendar is getting busy doesn’t mean you have to stop working out daily. Play Christmas Music as you jog!

Bundle up- If you’re not a lucky “Floridian” then its starting to get pretty cold outside! You don’t want to get sick so make sure you bundle up! Wear a long pea coat over a nice dress to stay warm while traveling to and from. Wear extra clothes after sweating at the gym. Add a hat, scarf, and gloves to your wardrobe!

Don’t forget to breathe- You may be stuck in holiday traffic or a ridiculously long check-out line. Instead of blowing up, just close your eyes relax your shoulders and take 3-4 deep breaths. This will help you relax and keep your cool. It isn’t healthy to stress about things you cannot change.

Yes, it is the holidays so don’t restrict your self too much.  Allow yourself to have a nice Christmas treat here and there. So stay healthy and enjoy yourself!
